| Panasonic SD255 - superb machine | |
| | My husband bought me this breadmaker for my birthday in May so we have been using it for six months. At last, we have found a machine that does exactly what it says on the box. Time after time. Perfect results if you measure the ingredients in correctly. If I have one criticism it is that we have put on weight due to the fact that the bread and cakes I (it!) has baked have been excellent.
| | | This was such a good buy. The bread is delicious and the recipes simple. I make all my own bread now despite working full time! Nothing beats waking up to the smell of hot bread and I have saved loads of money too.

| | As I am a miller in an 18th century watermill, I though it was about time I made my own bread. Many of our customers gave good reviews of the Panasonic brand, so I bought the SD255. It looked very substantial and well-made, and worked beautifully from the very first time. I have now made several loaves using different recipes from the manual provided with the breadmaker, and they have all been an unqualified success. There is absolutely no skill required, other than the ability to weigh the ingredients correctly and put them in in the right order. I was a little unsure about one of the other revues which mentioned the kneading paddle being loose on the stem. Mine is the same, but in the manual it says that this is intentional and not a fault. I would thoroughly recommend the SD255.

| | The bread maker is easy to use,it takes four hours to make aloaf of bread but the bread is very light texture, all the family think it tastes better than shop bread, even my son made a loaf on the 2nd day of getting it, Its take 5 mins to put the ingredients in the machine and then you forget about it until time off bread is made. Very fast deliverys as well with amazon. Looking forward to maki ng some cakes from the breadmaker
| | the best bread maker I've ever had | |
| | In the past twelve years I've managed a grand total of three weeks without a working bread maker (when making olive bread, be sure that the olives you are using are pitted!). This machine recently replaced a Russell Hobbs model that was getting a little squeaky in use. I've by no means explored all its possibilities, but I have never had a bread machine as good as this before.
I generally prefer to use the dough setting, as I prefer to shape the loaf myself, but I have tried "going all the way" with this machine and apart from the hole in the base where the paddle was, the results are barely distinguishable from a conventional oven baked loaf.
Even on the dough setting it takes longer than my last bread maker, but the extra time makes for a much better loaf. I was used to my standard granary loaf being a bit of a house brick, but it's now turning out with a much lighter texture without a change of recipe. I use Bacheldre's malted wholemeal flour and add about 50 grams of oats, and it turns out only slightly denser than a white loaf.
I am seriously impressed with this machine: buy with confidence!
