Kurzbeschreibung:
Readers who pick up this Virginia Henley who are simply looking for a bawdy read may be disappointed. This is an artfully crafted, beautifully written revenge romance that offers the complexity of all human relationships: political, espousal, and familial. On second thought, maybe they won't be disappointed as Virginia's books never fail to titillate and this one certainly achieves that--at the very least.

Oh Please!
2 out of 5 stars.
This is the third Henley novel I have read, and I have yet to find one in comparison to the first one I read, "A Year and a Day". I was disappointed in this book, I found the main character Sean, too unbelievable at times--going around thinking in his head he is the prince of darkness? PLEASE! I felt the sex scenes were borderline porn, and they were written in for the sake of....? Even though I got this secondhand at a bookstore I felt robbed, I will be taking this one back to exchange for a different one, thats for sure. Im almost ready to swear off Virginia Henley, if I can't find one that compares to "A Year and a Day" soon.

Why do I keep reading Virginia Henley!
1 out of 5 stars.
To be honest, I don't expect much from Virginia Henley. Erotica with some historical references thrown in is her forte. "Dream Lover" was absolute drek from start to finish. It's obvious that she writes for herself, and apparently she likes abusive men. Every time I pick up one of her books, I feel like the kid in that joke about the optimist locked in the room with a pile of horse manure. Unfortunately for Ms. Henley, I have yet to find the pony. P.S. Was I the only one who noticed that Emerald's repeated dream about Sean was couched in the exact same phrases every time? "'Sean, Sean,', she whispered with heart-scalding hunger." AARRGGHHH!

Best ever!
5 out of 5 stars.
All I can say is that I've read all of her books and this was the best one of them all. I've read the book over four times and will read it again. I couldn't put the book down.

Terrible
1 out of 5 stars.
This book was the first I have tried to read by this author. I won't be trying to read another one. It was boring. None of the characters were likable, and if I wanted to read love scenes like the ones in this book, I'd get a copy of Penthouse.

Very descriptive.
4 out of 5 stars.
This is my first book by this author and I'm glad to say it wasn't bad. I just dislike the "hero", he's too off for me. The heroin seems to easy.
