Kurzbeschreibung:
A stranger in a strange land, Highlander Duncan MacTavish finds himself summoned to the bedside of his dying grandfather, Lord Neville Thackeray, whom he has never met. This is only the first in a series of unwelcome surprises for the brawny Scot, who was perfectly content to take over as laird of the clan MacTavish. Saddled with a fiancé he doesn't like, Ophelia, whose beauty is surpassed only by her waspish nature; far from the home and life he loves; and being pressured by the autocratic Marquis of Birmingdale to toe the line of English respectability, Duncan meets the Honorable Sabrina Lambert and finds her a breath of fresh air in the stifling atmosphere of the English house party.

Unfortunately, scandalous rumours taint Sabrina's family name, practically ensuring that she will never be able to secure an advantageous match. Duncan's only friend to help him endure the machinations of Ophelia and a seemingly endless parade of other eligible young women, Sabrina is adept at making him laugh. After all, she spent most of her life diffusing the tension between her battling maiden aunts, who reared her after her parents' tragic deaths. But Duncan slowly begins to realize that his feelings for Sabrina are more than "friendly". Duncan and Sabrina's complicated courtship is classic Lindsey! Fans of the author who wait with bated breath for each new offering won't be disappointed with The Heir. --Alison Trinkle

Kundenbewertungen:
easy read with no depth
4 out of 5 stars.
Even though Sensuality is set to 7 I don't think there was anything to comment on there.
This is a girl meets boy - boy meets friend book. even though it it set in a time gone by there is no history meantioned and nothing that means it couldn't have been set in any year you like.
The story is a bit flat and one or two parts don't really feel right, but never the less it makes a nice shallow read. but don't expect any exitement from the sex scenes.
the girl sabrina has her coming-out season in London and meets this girl who is really beautiful and the queen of the season. this girl is meant to marry a 'barbarian' highlander that she has never met. she takes sabrina and all her friends to meet him for the first time. but whom will he marry in the end, if at all? read the book and find out.

Eine flache Erzählung ohne Spannung
2 out of 5 stars.

...and I thought "The Joining" was bad...
2 out of 5 stars.
I was expecting another exciting Johanna Lindsey Highland story with a Sexy Highlander like Lachlan MacGregor from "Love Me Forever." Boy - was I sorely disappointed. Duncan (the Hero) is about as sexy as a slug! He isn't even interesting. In fact, the Hero and the heroine spend very little time together during the whole course of the book. Don't expect any steaming love scenes either. The passion between these two is at the very least luke warm. Do yourself a favor, buy this book used.

UNBELIEVABLE- A DUMBING DOWN OF A BEACH BOOK
1 out of 5 stars.
THERE WAS NO STORY, NO CONFLICT. CHARACTERS WERE STEREOTYPES. THE FINAL CHAPTER WAS EASILY FORSEEN BEFORE THE ENDING OF THE SECOND CHAPTER. I HAVE TO STOP WASTING MY MONEY ON THESE BOOKS. YE GADS.

Fantastic
5 out of 5 stars.
This novel didn't follow the regular plot line for a romance novel, but it had my favorite aspect, SCOTLAND. By haveing this novel take place partly (even if it was only 2 or 3 chapters) made it totally worth it. I love the way that Ms. Lindsey writes the way that the scottish talk in her books!
