Die von der Umbrella Corporation ausgelöste Apokalypse hat fast die gesamte Menschheit mit ihrem Virus infiziert und in mörderische Untote verwandelt. Die noch nicht infizierte Alice macht sich auf die Suche nach anderen Überlebenden um mit ihnen die Umbrella Corporation zu vernichten. Sie macht sich auf den Weg nach Los Angeles, dort soll es für die letzten Überlebenden eine Oase des Friedens geben. Bei Ihrer Ankunft merkt sie, dass auch diese Stadt bereits von Zombies bevölkert wird. Die Situation scheint sich für Alice und ihre Begleiter zu einer ausweglosen und tödlichen Falle zu entwickeln.
